SDCC Hosts Panel, New gameplay trailer, and major announcement for Retroware’s Toxic Crusaders beat-’em-up!

This Saturday, July 26, indie gaming and gloriously gory cult cinema will unite for It’s Troma Time, celebrating the infamous cult studio’s 50+ year legacy. During the panel, which kicks off at 9PM PDT, studio co-founder and underground icon Lloyd Kaufman will deliver updates on his latest cinematic shocker, Troma’s The Power of Positive Murder. He’ll be joined by producer Andrew Miller, star Adam Peltier, and actress Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier, Return to Nuke ’Em High), as well as Mathew Klickstein, author of Lloyd Kaufman Interviews. The panel will be moderated by Megan Silver.

Capping off the panel, Retroware’s Creative Director Justin Silverman will debut a new gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated Toxic Crusaders beat-’em-up that expands upon the story of the cult classic ‘90s cartoon series. Following the trailer, Silverman will make a major announcement about the game, so you’ll want to stick around until the end of the panel!

Nickelodeon is celebrating 20 years of Avatar: The Last Airbender with an epic homage to the Avatar-verse, at SDCC 2025.  Its 1,800-square-foot booth (#4113) on the convention center floor will bring the four elements—Water, Earth, Fire, and Air — to life through immersive experiences and special photo opportunities.

20 Years. 4 Elements. 1 Avatar. Nickelodeon is celebrating Avatar: The Last Airbender’s 20th anniversary with a panel that will take fans on a special journey through the legacy of the Avatar-verse. Join original voice cast members Zach Tyler Eisen (Aang), Jack DeSena (Sokka), Michaela Jill Murphy (Toph), Jennie Kwan (Suki), Dante Basco (Zuko) and Dee Bradley Baker (Appa), series composer Jeremy Zuckerman, and creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, as they celebrate one of the most beloved animated series of all time. • The Boy in the Iceberg Photo Opportunity: See the moment that started it all. Fans can snap a selfie with a 20-foot-tall iceberg with Aang and Appa inside. 
• Wulong Forest Gif Activation: Upon entering the activation, the towering rock columns of the Wulong Forest will come to life in this 10-foot-tall recreation of the memorable landscape. Step into the forest photo booth for a shareable 180-degree digital gif.  
• Appa Photo and Digital Gif Opportunity: After the Wulong Forest, guests can stand beside a 9-foot-tall Appa and snap a photo with the iconic flying bison. Once finished, they will receive a special printed photo and shareable digital gif on their device. Be on the lookout for a surprise appearance in the gif! 
• Augmented Reality (AR) Bending Journey: Discover and scan special areas around the booth to launch AR experiences that bring your favorite Avatar characters to life. 
• My Cabbages!: The early bird gets the cabbage. Each morning when the booth opens, a limited supply of exclusive tote bags with a cabbage and recipe card will be available for fans at the market stall area, while supplies last. 
• Customized Baseball T-Shirt and Tote Station: Fans can purchase a t-shirt and tote bag and personalize it on the spot, with characters and art from their choice of nine fan-favorite Nick shows and Paramount Pictures movies: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Danny Phantom, The Smurfs and The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender.

Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. today announced its lineup of Gundam-related activities at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), one of the world’s largest pop culture and entertainment conventions. The event will take place in San Diego, USA, from Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27, 2025.

At Booth #3829, the Bandai Hobby will showcase a special display celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Fans can explore a wide range of exclusive Gundam Wing merchandise and experience a statue of the iconic Wing Gundam up close.

Additionally, Bandai Namco Filmworks will present the panel “GUNDAM Showcase – Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing” on Thursday, July 24. The session will highlight the latest updates from the Gundam Wing 30th Anniversary Project, along with new developments from across the wider Gundam series.

About “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing”

“Mobile Suit Gundam Wing” is the second title in the Gundam Alternative series. The story kicks off with an explosive opening, as five Gundam mobile suits launch a surprise attack on a powerful organization, setting the tone for a nonstop, high-stakes narrative that continues all the way through the finale. It is also notable for being the first Gundam series to be broadcast in the United States.

Summary of “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing”

A.C. 195. The space colonies launch Operation Meteor, dropping Gundam mobile suits onto Earth to strike back against the United Earth Sphere Alliance, which rules over them with armed force. After catching sight of Heero Yuy, one of the Gundam pilots, Relena Darlian is caught up in the vortex of fate. Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner, and Chang Wufei–four other Gundam pilots with the same mission as Heero–begin encountering one another as if drawn together. Through the schemes of Treize Khushrenada, leader of the secret society known as OZ, they end up wiping out the peaceful faction of the Alliance leadership. With this incident, OZ steps onto the center stage of history.

A stellar lineup of special guests has been confirmed for this year’s convention. Notable names include acclaimed comic artists and writers such as Bilquis Evely, Jonathan Hickman, Jim Lee, Scott Shaw!, and Jen Sorensen. They join a roster of more than 35 previously announced creators, promising a diverse and dynamic presence from across the comics industry.

Panels and Programming

While the full official schedule is set to be released in July, several panels and programming highlights have been revealed. Preview Night kicks off on Wednesday, July 23, with film festival screenings and a first look at the Exhibit Hall. Thursday’s programming includes the “Space Command” panel and a major Apex Comics Group session, which will feature exclusive comic and action figure announcements, special guests, and surprise reveals. Each day of the convention—Thursday through Sunday—will feature a mix of panels covering movies, television, comics, and more.

Exclusives and Collectibles

Collectors can look forward to a range of exclusive merchandise and limited-edition items. CGC and JSA are returning with exclusive pin giveaways, autograph signings, and on-site grading services for comics, trading cards, video games, and memorabilia. For years, Hall H has been the epicenter of Marvel’s biggest announcements, where the studio unveils its cinematic future and ignites fan excitement. Last year, fans were treated to one of the most shocking and buzzworthy reveals in Comic-Con history—Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this time as Victor Von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

This year, however, Hall H will fall silent from Marvel Studios. While the studio will still maintain a strong presence on the show floor with multiple panels and an elaborate booth setup rumored to feature interactive experiences and exclusive merchandise, the absence of a Hall H showcase leaves a noticeable void.

For fans, this change is more than just a scheduling shift—it’s the loss of a cherished tradition. Waiting in line overnight, sharing theories with fellow attendees, and witnessing surprise appearances by A-list stars has become a rite of passage for Comic-Con veterans and newcomers alike. Without Marvel’s cinematic spectacle anchoring the weekend, the atmosphere around Hall H will undoubtedly feel different.

Whether this signals a strategic pivot due to the ongoing realignment of Marvel’s theatrical and streaming projects—or simply a breather before bigger announcements at D23 Expo or Disney+ Day—remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Marvel skipping Hall H is a seismic shift in Comic-Con culture.
