<p>Ben Affleck and Matt Damon recently opened up about cancel culture and how it affects people long after a mistake is made. While talking about their new film <em>The Rip</em>, they shared concerns about how quickly public opinion can turn and how hard it is to recover once someone is labeled or judged online.</p>

<p>Damon explained that the punishment from cancel culture can feel endless. Unlike a prison sentence, which has a clear beginning and end, public shaming often sticks forever. He said once the internet decides who you are, it rarely allows room for change, growth, or redemption, no matter how much time passes.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="640" height="360" src="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/mattdamonbenaffleck.webp" alt="" class="wp-image-3169" srcset="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/mattdamonbenaffleck.webp 640w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/mattdamonbenaffleck-300x169.webp 300w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/mattdamonbenaffleck-200x113.webp 200w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>Affleck agreed, adding that cancel culture often removes basic human compassion. He said people make mistakes, learn, and evolve, but today’s climate doesn’t always allow that process to happen publicly. Together, they stressed the importance of forgiveness and letting people move forward rather than defining them forever by their worst moment.</p>

<p>Marvel Studios might be making one of its most surprising—and potentially disappointing—decisions of the year: opting out of its traditional Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC) 2025.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="988" src="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/comic-con-logo.png" alt="" class="wp-image-2924" srcset="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/comic-con-logo.png 800w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/comic-con-logo-243x300.png 243w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/comic-con-logo-768x948.png 768w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/comic-con-logo-200x247.png 200w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p>For years, Hall H has been the epicenter of Marvel’s biggest announcements, where the studio unveils its cinematic future and ignites fan excitement. Last year, fans were treated to one of the most shocking and buzzworthy reveals in Comic-Con history—Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this time as Victor Von Doom in <em>Avengers: Doomsday</em>.</p>

<p>This year, however, Hall H will fall silent from Marvel Studios. While the studio will still maintain a strong presence on the show floor with multiple panels and an elaborate booth setup rumored to feature interactive experiences and exclusive merchandise, the absence of a Hall H showcase leaves a noticeable void.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="567" src="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23-1024x567.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-2926" srcset="https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23-1024x567.jpg 1024w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23-300x166.jpg 300w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23-768x425.jpg 768w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23-200x111.jpg 200w, https://4gqtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/d23.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Screenshot</figcaption></figure>

<p>For fans, this change is more than just a scheduling shift—it&#8217;s the loss of a cherished tradition. Waiting in line overnight, sharing theories with fellow attendees, and witnessing surprise appearances by A-list stars has become a rite of passage for Comic-Con veterans and newcomers alike. Without Marvel’s cinematic spectacle anchoring the weekend, the atmosphere around Hall H will undoubtedly feel different.</p>

<p>Whether this signals a strategic pivot due to the ongoing realignment of Marvel’s theatrical and streaming projects—or simply a breather before bigger announcements at D23 Expo or Disney+ Day—remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Marvel skipping Hall H is a seismic shift in Comic-Con culture.</p>
