The Stöned Age heads to Blu-ray for the first time on April 20 with a Vestron Collector’s Series release packed with extras.

Physical media fans are getting a release that feels hilariously perfect for the date. The Stöned Age, James Melkonian’s 1994 cult comedy, is making its first Blu-ray appearance on April 20 through Lionsgate Limited as part of the long-running Vestron Collector’s Series.

The movie centers on Hubbs and Joe, two guys roaming Torrance for a night that is supposed to be fun and simple. Instead, their search for a beach-area party turns into a parade of dumb luck, escalating trouble, and full-on burnout chaos.

Bradford Tatum, Michael Kopelow, China Kantner, and Renee Allman star in the film, with Melkonian writing the script alongside Rich Wilkes. Over the years, the movie has hung around as a favorite for viewers who like their comedies scruffy, weird, and completely uninterested in playing it safe.

That cult status is exactly why this Blu-ray debut feels like a good fit. Boutique labels and collector lines thrive on titles that have their own strange little wavelength, and The Stöned Age absolutely has one.

What fans get in the new edition

The new set comes with an audio commentary featuring Melkonian and Wilkes. It also includes three added pieces, a retrospective called Back to The Stöned Age, a reunion feature focused on The Blue Torpedo, and an extended scene.

Lionsgate Limited has priced the Blu-ray and digital combo at $24.99. The film runs 90 minutes, carries an R rating, and includes the original English 2.0 theatrical mix with English SDH subtitles. The presentation is widescreen at 1.85:1.

There is also some extra collector appeal in the packaging itself. Artwork for the release comes from Lucas Peverill, which should give the case a little more personality on the shelf.

Press coverage around the launch may include interview access with Melkonian, according to the release notes. Pre-orders are live now through Lionsgate Limited, and publicity materials are already available for outlets that want to line up coverage.

The Stöned Age becomes Vestron Collector’s Series entry number 38 on April 20. If you have a thing for cult comedies, oddball home video pickups, or movies that feel like one long disastrous Saturday night, this one has your name all over it.

R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2 is headed to Tubi in October 2026 after the first film broke out during Terror on Tubi.

TL;DR: Tubi has officially greenlit R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 after the first film broke out during the streamer’s 2025 Terror on Tubi lineup. The sequel is set to premiere in October 2026.

Key Takeaways

– Tubi has greenlit R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 for October 2026.
– The sequel follows the breakout performance of the first Pumpkinhead movie on Tubi.
– R.L. Stine and Tubi both framed the follow-up as part of the streamer’s growing YA horror push.
– The new film will return during Tubi’s annual Terror on Tubi Halloween event.

Tubi is going back into the pumpkin patch. The streamer has officially greenlit R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, giving its young-adult horror franchise a second chapter after the first film found a strong audience during last year’s Halloween season.

That matters because R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 is not being treated like a throwaway follow-up. Tubi is clearly leaning into horror as a serious lane for the platform, and this sequel feels like a bet that its spooky YA crowd is ready for more.

According to the announcement, the sequel will premiere during Terror on Tubi in October 2026. That keeps the film locked into the same seasonal release strategy that helped the first movie break through in 2025.

Tubi says the original R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premiered exclusively on the service in October 2025 and even landed on Variety’s Streaming Original Movies Chart, which tracks weekly viewership using Luminate data. For a free streaming platform, that is a pretty loud win.

Why R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 matters for Tubi

Tubi is not shy about what this sequel means. Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer at Tubi, said R.L. Stine remains one of the most important horror voices for younger audiences and called the original film’s performance a breakout success.

That tracks. R.L. Stine is one of those names that instantly triggers nostalgia while still pulling in a newer crowd. So when a platform finds a way to package that brand for streaming-era horror fans, it makes sense to double down.

Stine also sounded fully on board with the return. He joked that Halloween would not be Halloween without a story about kids trapped inside a pumpkin, which is exactly the kind of weird, playful horror energy this franchise is chasing.

The sequel’s setup also sounds bigger than a simple rerun. Tubi’s description says the story follows Evan, a bullied kid who finds a forbidden spellbook and accidentally revives the ancient curse of Redhaven. From there, pumpkin-headed children rise from past sacrifices and move to claim the town during its Harvest Festival.

Tubi keeps building its horror identity

Now here’s where it gets interesting. Tubi says Terror on Tubi drove more than 100 million hours of total viewing time in 2025, which marked a 51 percent increase year over year. That kind of jump explains why the platform is putting more chips on horror originals.

And honestly, it is a smart fit. Tubi has built a reputation as a place where genre fans can dig around and find something wild. A horror brand tied to R.L. Stine gives that strategy a recognizable face while still leaving room for goofy seasonal fun.

The movie is being produced by Front Street Pictures. Jem Garrard is writing and directing, while James Mattagne, Joan Waricha, Harvey Kahn, Yvonne Bernard, Dan Bernard, Jem Garrard, Allen Lewis, and Rama Diallo are attached as executive producers.

For fans, the big headline is simple. R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 is real, it is aiming for October 2026, and Tubi clearly wants this series to become part of its annual Halloween identity. If the sequel lands, this could turn into one of the streamer’s most reliable genre franchises.

Keywords: Tubi, R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, R.L. Stine, Terror on Tubi, Front Street Pictures, horror movies, streaming news, YA horror

Wuthering Heights is the top trending movie right now, combining strong early box-office momentum with nonstop fan debate around cast and direction.

Key Takeaways

Wuthering Heights is currently one of the most talked-about films in theaters.

Trade data shows it leading key daily box-office tracking during a highly competitive February run.

The movie is pulling both prestige-drama audiences and social-first mainstream viewers.

Its early momentum is driven by cast heat, director brand power, and adaptation controversy.

The top trending movie conversation right now belongs to Wuthering Heights. That is not just hype language. It is happening at the exact point where theatrical results, social chatter, and pop-culture curiosity are all moving in the same direction.

Emerald Fennell’s version arrived with major expectations, then immediately faced a competitive release corridor. February has several headline titles fighting for attention, which makes any early lead even more meaningful. In other words, this was not a quiet runway.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi were always going to pull traffic, but the real story is how wide the conversation became. Fans of literary adaptations showed up. So did audiences who mostly know both leads from modern franchise or prestige work. That crossover matters for legs.

The Numbers tracking during the February window showed Wuthering Heights out front on a key daily chart, posting a strong figure while competitors were still pushing hard. For a movie built on tone and relationship drama, that is a serious early signal. It suggests audience curiosity is converting into paid tickets.

Why This Adaptation Is Dominating the Feed

This film is not trending because it is safe. It is trending because it is polarizing in a way that still feels cinematic. People are debating interpretation choices, visual style, and emotional intensity at the same time. That kind of layered argument drives repeat visibility online.

Fennell’s brand also adds fuel. Her work usually creates strong “love it or hate it” discourse, and that is exactly the type of attention loop that keeps a title alive past opening weekend. A movie does not need unanimous approval to win attention; it needs sustained conversation.

Casting strategy was another smart lever. Robbie brings mainstream trust and awards-era credibility. Elordi brings younger fan energy and high social discoverability. Put both in a classic text with modern edge, and you get a built-in engagement engine.

Trade and editorial calendars also helped this title. Multiple 2026 “most anticipated” lists framed it as a major February event before release, so awareness was already elevated. When a movie enters theaters with that setup, opening-week conversation has a higher ceiling.

Box Office Pressure Test and What Comes Next

The marketplace context makes this even more impressive. GOAT*, *Crime 101*, and other fresh entries all competed for space in the same period. Yet *Wuthering Heights still owned top-of-chart oxygen at a critical moment. That is the difference between “noticed” and “dominant.”

The next test is hold strength. If weekday and second-weekend performance stay healthy, the narrative shifts from “buzz title” to “real run.” If drops accelerate, it may settle into a shorter but still high-impact cultural moment. Both outcomes still keep it central to the 2026 movie conversation.

From an industry lens, this is a reminder that literary adaptations are not dead at all. They just need clear point of view, event-level casting, and marketing that leans into debate instead of avoiding it. Wuthering Heights checked all three boxes early.

Bottom line: the trend is real, and it is backed by more than vibes. Wuthering Heights currently sits at the intersection of conversation power and measurable theatrical momentum. For 4GQTV readers, this is the movie story to watch right now.

Continuum predicted the future by anticipating corporate control, surveillance, and tech dependence long before those debates dominated 2026.

Key Takeaways

Continuum framed corporate power and surveillance years before those debates went mainstream.

The show’s cast, led by Rachel Nichols, gave the political ideas emotional weight.

It did not predict exact events, but it strongly anticipated today’s social direction.

This is a smart time for genre fans to revisit it.

Continuum predicted the future in a way that now feels impossible to ignore. The series ran from 2012 to 2015, but the issues it raised look like 2026 headlines. That is exactly why people keep rediscovering it.

On paper, the setup sounds simple. A law enforcer from 2077 gets stranded in 2012 while chasing a militant group. In practice, the show quickly asks harder questions about power, freedom, and who controls the rules.

What makes Continuum hit so hard now is its central fear. The future is not just authoritarian. It is corporate-authoritarian. Government and private power blend into one system, and ordinary people lose room to push back.

That theme felt dramatic when the show debuted. Now it feels familiar. Public trust has dropped, consolidation has accelerated, and surveillance technology is part of daily life. So yes, the show suddenly looks a lot less fictional.

Why Continuum Predicted the Future for 2026 Audiences

The strongest point is not that Continuum guessed specific events. The strongest point is that it understood direction. It saw where incentives were pointing and built a story around that trajectory.

The show also refused easy heroes. Liber8 fights a future police state, but its methods are violent and morally ugly. Kiera Cameron enforces order, yet she slowly sees how broken that order really is.

That moral tension gave the series long-term relevance. It never argued that one side is pure. Instead, it asked what people compromise when systems become extreme.

It also examined dependence on advanced tools. Kiera’s implants make her powerful, but they also make her vulnerable. That balance mirrors modern anxiety around AI assistants, data ecosystems, and always-on platforms.

The Cast That Made the Warning Feel Real

Rachel Nichols carries the show as Kiera Cameron. Her performance sells the conflict between loyalty and awakening. Without that emotional anchor, the political commentary would have felt abstract.

Victor Webster plays Carlos Fonnegra as the audience surrogate. He grounds the timeline with practical skepticism and moral clarity. That dynamic helps viewers process the future shock from a human scale.

Erik Knudsen’s Alec Sadler is arguably the show’s most important idea in character form. He is the young innovator who could build progress or build control. That dilemma has only grown louder in the AI era.

The supporting ensemble also matters more than people remember. Stephen Lobo, Omari Newton, Roger Cross, Lexa Doig, Jennifer Spence, and Brian Markinson each push the ethics debate from different angles. The result is a world that feels lived in, not theoretical.

Why Genre Fans Should Rewatch It Right Now

Continuum is not perfect, and it does not need to be. Its value is how clearly it framed the tradeoff between convenience and autonomy. That question is still unresolved, and maybe more urgent now.

So did Continuum predict the future with exact precision. No. But Continuum predicted the future in the way that matters most: it anticipated our arguments before we had the language for them.

If you skipped it years ago, now is the moment to fix that. If you loved it once, it is worth a rewatch with 2026 eyes. You will probably find it sharper, darker, and more relevant than you remembered.

Scream 7 is trending hard as Neve Campbell returns and the franchise faces a make-or-break opening after major production turbulence.

Key Takeaways

Scream 7 enters theaters as a major franchise recovery test.

Neve Campbell’s return is the emotional center of the marketing story.

Fan conversation is huge, but split between hype and skepticism.

If opening weekend hits, the narrative flips from turmoil to comeback.

Scream 7 is trending because it is bigger than one sequel. It is now a full stress test for a horror brand that survived decades, reboots, and fandom wars. People are not just asking if it will be good. They are asking if the franchise can fully stabilize.

The conversation got hotter the moment Neve Campbell’s return became central to the rollout. Sidney Prescott has always been the emotional backbone of Scream, and fans instantly treated her return as a trust signal. That alone turned this from “next sequel” into must-watch territory.

But this hype does not exist in a vacuum. The road to Scream 7 included real production turbulence, cast exits, and loud public debate. That history is now part of the marketing context whether the studio likes it or not.

So what makes this trend different from normal horror hype? Stakes. If the movie lands, Scream becomes a case study in franchise recovery. If it stumbles, every old controversy comes back to the headline.

Why the Industry Is Paying Close Attention

Paramount is not just selling jump scares here. It is selling confidence in the brand after a messy cycle. The release timing puts the film in a clean lane where horror audiences can focus attention before spring blockbusters start soaking up oxygen.

Kevin Williamson’s leadership visibility also matters. For longtime fans, that reads like a return-to-roots move, and that language is working. Nostalgia plus course-correction is a powerful combo when audiences feel a franchise drifted.

There is also the social-media split that keeps this topic alive every day. One side sees this as the true Scream reset. The other side worries the continuity damage from prior exits cannot be patched in one film. That tension is exactly why it trends. Consensus is not required for dominance. Debate is.

The Real Question Is Opening Weekend Trust

Horror has always been opening-weekend sensitive, especially for legacy IP. Fans decide fast, and word-of-mouth spreads even faster. If first reactions are strong, the narrative will shift in hours from “troubled project” to “franchise back.”

If reactions are mixed, the film may still open decently on brand recognition, but legs could drop quickly. That is why this launch is less about awareness and more about confidence. People already know Scream 7 exists. They need a reason to believe in it.

From a pop-culture lens, this is one of the cleanest trend stories in movies right now. Big legacy character. Real behind-the-scenes drama. Loud fan takes. And a release window that invites all eyes.

Bottom line: Scream 7 is not just trending because it is next. It is trending because it has to prove something. For horror fans and franchise watchers, that makes this one of the most important movie openings of the moment.

Netflix is filming the secret Stranger Things First Shadow movie! Discover how this prequel rewrites the Season 5 finale and Vecna's origin story.

Netflix has officially confirmed a massive bombshell that is rocking the foundations of the Upside Down. The Tony Award-winning Broadway production, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, is being professionally filmed as a full-length feature film for global streaming. This is not just a casual recording but a high-production-value cinematic event designed to bring the visceral magic of the stage directly to your home screen. For months, die-hard fans have whispered about a “secret movie” that would bridge the gap between the existing seasons and the series’ epic conclusion.

It turns out the answer was hidden in plain sight at the Marquis Theatre. Developed by the Duffer Brothers alongside Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, The First Shadow* was never conceived as a mere spin-off. It was built from the ground up as a foundational piece of the *Stranger Things canon, expanding the boundaries of Hawkins in ways that were previously unimaginable. By transitioning this stage masterpiece into a digital format, Netflix is ensuring that every fan can experience the vital lore drops required to fully understand the series’ endgame.

This “Stranger Things First Shadow movie” is set to be a game-changer for the franchise’s narrative structure. One of the most exciting aspects of this production is the deliberate use of cross-media casting to maintain continuity. Actor Alex Breaux, who portrays the cold and calculating Dr. Martin Brenner in the stage play, has been confirmed to reprise the same role in the upcoming Season 5. This bridge actor ensures that the version of Brenner we see experimenting on youth in 1959 is the exact same presence we will encounter in the final season’s flashbacks or potential resurrections.

The filming is happening right now, with a strict production window scheduled between February 10th and 14th, 2026. This cinematic rendition will capture the original Broadway cast in their prime, including the stunning performance of Louis McCartney as the young Henry Creel. By documenting this specific iteration of the story, Netflix is preserving a piece of theatrical history that will directly impact how we view the final battle for Hawkins. The shadows of Indiana are about to get a lot deeper as we prepare for this global lore drop.

The First Shadow and the Origins of Vecna

The story of The First Shadow takes us back to 1959, a time that seems far removed from the neon-soaked 1980s of the main series. However, this prequel reveals that the roots of the supernatural rot in Hawkins go much deeper than anyone expected. We are introduced to a young, high-strung teen named Henry Creel, who has just moved to town with his family. Portrayed by McCartney with a haunting vulnerability, Henry is a misunderstood youth struggling with psychokinetic powers that are already beginning to spiral out of control under the weight of his environment.

At its core, the play serves as a tragic origin story for the monster we now know as Vecna. We witness the slow-motion car crash of the Creel family as they attempt a fresh start, only to be torn apart by forces they cannot comprehend. T.R. Knight delivers a powerful performance as Victor Creel, a father desperate to save his son while being driven to the brink of madness. This movie won’t just tell you about the infamous Creel House murders; it forces you to live through the psychological horror of a family being manipulated by an interdimensional entity.

This leads to the massive retcon that is set to rewrite the Season 5 finale’s context. While Season 4 led fans to believe that Henry Creel was the sole architect and “master” of the Upside Down, The First Shadow reveals a much darker truth. It suggests that Vecna might actually be a victim or a puppet of the Mind Flayer. The play implies that the shadowy entity was a pre-existing malevolent force seeking a human vessel, and Henry was simply the perfect tool for its cosmic ambitions. This revelation reframes Vecna as a tragic lieutenant rather than the final boss.

Beyond the darkness of the Creels, we also get to see the teenage years of our favorite Hawkins heroes in their prime. A young, rebellious Jim Hopper and a determined Joyce Maldonado are central figures in the 1959 mystery, alongside the lovable Bob Newby. Seeing these characters before they became the protectors of Hawkins gives us a deeper appreciation for the trauma they have unknowingly shared for decades. Their early attempts to solve the strange occurrences in town provide the human heart of the story, reminding us that the fight against the shadows has always been a communal effort.

Bridging the Gap to the Season 5 Finale

One of the most urgent questions from the community has been whether watching the play is required to understand the final season. While the Duffer Brothers have stated that Season 5 will stand on its own, they have also made it clear that The First Shadow provides the “keys to the kingdom.” The revelations found in this “Stranger Things First Shadow movie” about Henry’s past and the true nature of the Mind Flayer are essential to the final resolution. Eleven and Will may find the very answers they need to defeat the dark forces of the Upside Down hidden within the events of 1959.

Writer Kate Trefry has already confirmed that the final season of the show will feature significant callbacks and flashbacks that tie directly into this movie. This is a masterful stroke of world-building that ensures the prequel isn’t just a separate entity but a vital component of the series’ endgame. Watching the filmed production will likely feel like discovering a “lost season” that recontextualizes every interaction our heroes have had with the supernatural. It sets the stage for a finale that will finally address the origins of Hawkins Lab and the USS Eldridge experiments.

The power struggle between Vecna’s ego and the Mind Flayer’s ancient hunger is set to be the defining conflict of the franchise’s climax. If Henry Creel is indeed a puppet, it changes the stakes of the final showdown entirely. Is the Mind Flayer the true ancient evil that must be destroyed, or can Henry be redeemed and turned against his master? This added layer of cosmic horror suggests that the ultimate villain is an incomprehensible force rather than just a human with a grudge. This dynamic adds a profound level of complexity to the upcoming final battle.

While an official release date for the filmed version is still under wraps, insiders suggest it will drop on Netflix shortly before Season 5 premieres to maximize the hype. This professional theatrical production serves as the perfect appetizer, bridging the long wait for the main series with a high-octane dose of Hawkins history. The Stranger Things* universe is clearly expanding far beyond the 1980s, and *The First Shadow is just the beginning of this new era of storytelling. As the shadows of Hawkins continue to stretch, the world watches and waits for the final piece of the puzzle to fall into place.

Get ready to lose track of time—literally! The visionary director Jeremy Snead is back with a mind-bending new sci-fi drama. Matter of Time* is officially set to warp into theaters on February 27th. Featuring an incredible cast led by Myles Erlick and the legendary Sean Astin (*Lord of the Rings*, *Stranger Things), this film is shaping up to be the must-watch indie hit of the season. At 4GQTV, we’ve been tracking Snead’s career for years. This latest project looks like his most ambitious storytelling yet, blending heart-wrenching human emotion with high-concept science fiction.

Matter of Time follows the journey of Charlie Fleck (played by Myles Erlick), a 29-year-old aspiring video-game designer who is perpetually running out of time. His life takes a drastic turn when he discovers a mysterious device that allows him to stop time entirely. What starts as a dream come true—finally having the time to pursue his passions—quickly turns into an intoxicating power trip that forces Charlie to confront the true cost of ambition. The film poses a haunting question: what are we willing to risk, and who are we willing to lose, when we try to control the very moments that define our lives?

The production has a stellar lineup both in front of and behind the camera. Directed and written by Jeremy Snead, the film also features Ali Astin, Jamie Alexander, and was produced by Snead alongside Jason Baumgardner and Ian Campbell. The synergy between Snead’s direction and Erlick’s performance is said to be electric, capturing the desperation and wonder of a man who suddenly holds the universe in the palm of his hand. Meanwhile, Sean Astin brings his signature depth and gravitas to the project, ensuring that the stakes feel grounded and real even as the sci-fi elements take center stage.

Why You Should Be Hyped for “Matter of Time”

This isn’t just another time-travel flick. Snead has crafted a narrative that focuses on the cost* of “pausing” life. It’s a genre-bending exploration of friendship, purpose, and grief. Consequently, the film is already generating significant buzz for its unique approach to the sci-fi genre. Whether you’re a fan of high-stakes drama or mind-bending technology, *Matter of Time promises to deliver a cinematic experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll. For instance, the trailers hint at some truly stunning visual effects used to represent the frozen world Charlie inhabits.

This is one sci-fi journey you won’t want to miss, and we’ll be right here at 4GQTV to bring you more updates as we get closer to the big premiere.

The master of the cinematic “sky” is finally coming home. Steven Spielberg, the legendary director whose fascination with extraterrestrial life gave us masterpieces like Close Encounters of the Third Kind* and *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, is officially diving back into the UFO genre. Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have just released a brand-new featurette titled “A First Look with Steven Spielberg,” offering fans an exciting glimpse into his highly anticipated original event film, Disclosure Day.

For pop-culture fans and movie buffs, this is a monumental moment. Spielberg has always had a unique ability to capture the awe and terror of the unknown, and Disclosure Day looks to be a return to that grand-scale storytelling. The featurette hints at a high-stakes thriller that explores the world-shaking implications of humanity finally proving we aren’t alone. With the cryptic tagline “All Will Be Disclosed,” the hype for this summer blockbuster is already hitting the stratosphere.

The production value showcased in the first-look footage is, as expected, top-tier. Spielberg’s longtime collaborator, cinematographer Janusz Kamiński, is back behind the lens, ensuring the film has that signature sweeping, atmospheric glow we’ve all come to love. Between the mysterious aerial shots and the intense close-ups of a world in shock, Disclosure Day is positioning itself as the must-see cinematic event of 2026. This isn’t just a movie; it’s a statement from a filmmaker who has spent decades preparing us for this exact conversation.

An A-List Powerhouse Ensemble

A Spielberg “event film” always draws the best talent in Hollywood, and Disclosure Day* is no exception. The cast is led by the incredible Emily Blunt, who is coming off a massive win for *Oppenheimer. Blunt plays a Kansas City TV meteorologist who finds herself at the center of the unfolding global mystery. Watching her navigate the professional and personal chaos of a world-changing revelation is going to be a masterclass in performance.

Joining Blunt is a squad of serious heavy hitters. Josh O’Connor (Challengers*, *The Crown*) and the legendary Colin Firth bring a level of dramatic prestige that few sci-fi thrillers can claim. The lineup is further bolstered by Eve Hewson (*Bad Sisters*), Colman Domingo (*Sing Sing*), and Wyatt Russell (*Monarch: Legacy of Monsters). It’s a diverse, talented ensemble that suggests the film will focus as much on the human reaction to disclosure as it does on the extraterrestrials themselves.

Having a cast this stacked allows Spielberg to explore the global impact of the story through multiple perspectives. From the media rooms in Kansas City to the highest levels of government, the film seems intent on showing how a single moment of “disclosure” would ripple across every facet of society. This kind of grounded, character-driven approach to science fiction is what Spielberg does better than anyone else. We can’t wait to see how these characters collide when the truth finally comes out.

The “Jurassic Park” Dream Team Reunites

Perhaps the most exciting detail for hardcore cinephiles is the reunion of Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp. This is the legendary duo responsible for some of the biggest blockbusters in history, including the original Jurassic Park*, *The Lost World*, and *War of the Worlds*. Koepp penned the screenplay for *Disclosure Day based on an original story treatment by Spielberg himself. When these two get together, the results are almost always box-office gold.

Combined, their prior collaborations have raked in more than $3 billion worldwide. Their shared shorthand for tension, wonder, and popcorn-munching spectacles is legendary. Koepp knows exactly how to structure a story that lets Spielberg’s visual imagination run wild, and with an original UFO story as the canvas, the possibilities are endless. This reunion alone is enough to make Disclosure Day the most anticipated script of the decade.

To round out the “old guard” reunion, the iconic John Williams is set to compose the score. This marks his 30th collaboration with Spielberg, a partnership that has defined the sound of modern cinema. From the five-note motif in Close Encounters* to the haunting strings of *Jaws, Williams’ music is the soul of Spielberg’s films. Expect a score that captures both the terrifying mystery of the stars and the awe-inspiring beauty of a new reality for mankind.

Mark Your Calendars: The Summer of 2026

The countdown to the big reveal is officially on. Universal has set a release date of June 12, 2026, for Disclosure Day. The film will arrive exclusively in theaters and will feature a massive IMAX rollout to ensure fans can experience the scale of Spielberg’s vision on the largest screens possible. Marketing is just beginning, but with a Super Bowl trailer already in the books, the “Disclosure” movement is gaining momentum every day.

The film poses a chilling question that is its core hook: “If someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?” This focus on the psychological impact of the unknown suggests that Disclosure Day* will be a “thinking man’s thriller” as much as an action spectacle. Spielberg isn’t just making a movie about aliens; he’s making a movie about *us and how we would handle the most significant discovery in human history.

Disclosure Day looks to be the culmination of Spielberg’s career-long obsession with the stars. Between the reunion with David Koepp, the return of John Williams, and a powerhouse cast led by Emily Blunt, all the ingredients are there for a generational classic. Stay tuned to 4GQTV as we track every leak, trailer, and bit of intel leading up to the June 2026 premiere. The truth belongs to seven billion people, and the disclosure is almost here.

“Karate Kid: Legends” is a masterful continuation of the beloved Karate Kid saga. Seamlessly tying together the original films, the 2010 reboot, and the hit series “Cobra Kai.” This film is a nostalgic yet fresh take on the classic story, bringing together characters and themes from all iterations of the franchise.

Blending the Legacy

One of the standout aspects of “Karate Kid: Legends”, it honors the legacy of the original Karate Kid films. Fans of the 1984 classic will appreciate the numerous callbacks to the moments and characters that made the original so special. The film’s writer, Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit), does an excellent job of weaving in the teachings of Mr. Miyagi, reminding us of the timeless wisdom and values he imparted to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio).

The 2010 reboot of “The Karate Kid” is given its due respect in “Karate Kid Legends.”. Jackie Chan returns as Mr. Han, whom moviegoers were introduced to in the movie. The film acknowledges the unique elements introduced in the reboot, the setting in China, and Kung Fu rather than Karate. This blend of martial arts styles adds a rich layer of diversity. Showcasing the beauty and discipline of both Karate and Kung Fu.

Karate Kid: Legends does a decent job of tying Mr. Han into the history of the Myagi family and Myagi Do Karate. Adding even more depth to the history of the franchise.

Sony Pictures

A Fresh Take on the Old Story

As the story begins to unfold, viewers of the original Karate Kid might get a feeling of déjà vu as we meet Li Fong (Ben Wong). A student of Mr. Han, Li is relocating from Hong Kong to New York City. His mother is taking a job there. Once in New York, Li meets Mia Lipani (Sadie Stanly). Mia works at the pizza place her father owns. He also meets Conor (Aramis Knight). Connor is Mia’s jealous ex-boyfriend, who happens to also be the current “5 Burroughs Karate Champion” and a jerk. Luckily for the moviegoer, this is where the story diverges and lets the viewer know that it’s not a retelling of the original Karate Kid.

Mia’s father, Victor (Joshua Jackson), a retired boxer, owes money to some “very bad people”, and when they come to “collect”, Li steps in. This is the first time we see Li in action, and you immediately see hints of the style that Jackie Chan is known for, such as using surroundings and lots of movement, and a bit of “that didn’t go as planned” fun.

Victor decides he must fight one more time so he can earn enough money to pay his debt. Li reluctantly agrees to help train Victor while facing demons from his past. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Karate Kid movie without a tournament action, and this entry into the franchise does not disappoint.

A Perfect Blend

One of the most exciting aspects of “Karate Kid: Legends” is the seamless blending of fighting styles. The film features a variety of martial arts techniques, each with its own unique flair. From the traditional Karate moves that fans know and love, to the fluid and graceful Kung Fu techniques, the fight scenes are a visual feast. The choreography is top-notch. Director Jonathan Entwistle (I Am Not OK With This) does a great job showcasing the fast-paced action.

Final Word

In conclusion, “Karate Kid Legends” is a triumphant addition to the Karate Kid franchise. It successfully ties together the original films, the 2010 reboot, and “Cobra Kai,” creating a cohesive and engaging story that isn’t just a rehash of the original story, but honors the past while looking to the future. The film’s diverse fighting styles and well-executed action scenes make it a must-watch for martial arts enthusiasts and fans of the series alike.

Cerebral Paul gives it 9/10 Braincells.
